1. High Levels of All Four Tocopherol Forms.
PIONEER Super E+ begins with high levels of superior quality,
natural d-alpha-tocopherol (the most widely researched form
of vitamin E), and then adds a rich blend of beta-, delta-, and
gamma-tocopherols. All of these tocopherols, as found in
nature, have their own unique and important antioxidant
properties. For example, the gamma- form, predominant in
foods, appears to enhance the action of the d-alpha form1 and
is superior at inhibiting peroxynitrite, a particularly dangerous

contains higher levels of natural gamma- and other mixed

2. Alpha-Lipoic Acid. Because it is both water- and fatsoluble,
alpha-lipoic acid is known as a powerful “universal”
antioxidant. Dual solubility permits this sulfur-containing
fatty acid to function virtually anywhere in the body, where it
plays many roles. Alpha-lipoic acid protects and extends
antioxidant life by recycling vitamin E, vitamin C and CoQ10.
It increases glutathione levels in cells, neutralizes both oxygen
and nitrogen free radicals and is essential for cell and muscle
energy production, as well as for normal sugar metabolism.4,5
3. Selenium. One of the most important functions of
selenium is as a co-factor of glutathione peroxidase, a critical
antioxidant enzyme. In addition, selenium and vitamin E work
together synergistically to protect cell membrane lipids from
damage by oxidation.6 Super E+ contains an effective yet safe
amount of selenium, just enough to complement the other
ingredients in this formula.
4. Micellization. Vitamin E is well-absorbed by most
individuals, but people who have difficulty absorbing fats in
general may suffer from compromised vitamin E uptake.
