Bilberry + Grapeskin, 280mg 120 caps. From Swedish Bilberies. Supports and Protects Vision. Jarrow Formulas’ Bilberry + Grapeskin Polyphenols is a synergistic blend of flavonoid antioxidants. Swedish Bilberries (100:1) contain 25% polyphenols as anthocyanosides. Red Grapeskin contains 30% polyphenols including 4% anthocyanins. Bilberry flavonoids support and protect vision by enhancing antioxidant status in the eye and reducing capillary permeability and fragility. Bilberry is often associated with improvement of night vision. Laboratory studies have provided preliminary evidence that bilberry consumption may inhibit or reverse eye disorders such as macular degeneration. As a deep blue fruit, bilberries contain dense levels of anthocyanin pigments linked experimentally to lowered risk for several diseases, such as those of the heart and cardiovascular system, eyes and cancer.
